Here’s a controversial trick that works really well for me–you can skip the moisturizer, but you absolutely can’t skip toner. If you’re going somewhere warm, in particular, your skin might not want your daily moisturizer while it readjusts to the humidity, and on the other hand, you might not want to fuss too much with your skin either. Pick a hydrating toner, however, and decant it into a travel-sized spray bottle from the dollar store and you’ll be all set. Mist your face regularly, and at the moisturizer stage of your skincare regimen, just spray on a layer of toner, pat it in, and then repeat. Apply as many layers as needed, preferably a total of seven times — the seven skin method is a Korean cult beauty trick that’s been found to keep the skin in peak form when a day cream is not available.
