Your favourite vacuum cleaner company just announced their latest innovation: a hairdryer. Yup. Dyson made a hairdryer and we’re in love. The Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer was announced early this morning and will launch this August online before having a more widespread distribution later in the year.
It may seem strange that a company that has made its mark creating vacuum cleaners (though pretty damn cool ones) would make a foray into the beauty world, but one thing this company does so well is innovation and lightweight appliances. So, why not?
We got a sneak peek of the hairdryer yesterday and it’s everything you want in a beauty tool: It’s powerful, lightweight and, of course, gorgeous. We won’t go into all the boring specs, but the placement of the motor (about as small as a battery) is in the handle instead of the actual dryer part, making the weight distribution more even. Plus the “loop” as they call it (the tunnel part at the top of the dryer) allows for three times as much air flow as your regular hairdryer (even the good ones), so you can dry your hair quickly.
You may think the small motor would make it less powerful, but it’s said to be able to cut your dry time in half. For those of you with thick hair that takes an hour dry, what are you going to do with all that extra time in the morning? Sleep? Shop online? Meditate? Have another cup of coffee? The options are endless.
The Supersonic comes with three attachments for your drying needs and are magnetized, meaning you don’t have to struggle with removing them when you want to switch from your smoothing nozzle to diffuser.
The only catch: The Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer is $500, which may seem steep, but is comparable to some other top of the line beauty tools on the market. If you’re looking for something cool that will stick with you , this is for you.
Plus, did you see how cool it looks?
The Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer will be available August 2016 at DysonCanada.ca for $500.
