She’s known for her jaw-dropping ensembles but Lady Gaga took a turn from overt-bombshell to classic and elegant at this past Sunday’s 67th Annual Emmy Awards. The 29-year-old stepped out with a platinum-blonde bob styled by Frederic Aspiras who created the almost retro look using Matrix styling products. Inspired by Grace Kelly’s effortless elegance, he told People Magazine that he “wanted to create something soft and touchable.”
The softness of her look channels true old Hollywood glamour and this was the vibe her long-time make-up artist, Sarah Nicole Tanno wanted to go for. To begin, she applied Marc Jacobs Full Cover Foundation Concentrate in Ivory 12, ($69). She dusted the cheeks in Shameless Bold Blush in 204 Obsessed, ($36) which added a light glow. Her eyes were shaded with Marc Jacobs Beauty Twinkle Pop Eye Stick, ($35) and a Highlighter Gel Eye Crayon, ($31). The real secret behind the look was intense blending with to avoid any harsh lines. Gaga’s lashes were pumped up mile-high up using Marc Jacobs Volumizing Mascara, ($33). To finish off the look, Tanno used Marc Jacobs lip gel, ($38) which offers a sheer, luscious wash of colour in a gel formula.
