Traveling can take a toll on your skin and often more than you think. I hadn’t travelled in quite a while and forgot what kind of havoc even a short 90-minute flight could wreak on my skin. Now that I’m older (and definitely wiser when it comes to my skincare regimen), I know that I need to arm myself not only with products for the flight itself but a serious dose of hydration when I land, too.
My two post-flight essentials: Olay Regenerist Luminous Brightening Cream Cleanser ($16) and Overnight Mask ($40).
I have dehydrated skin on the best of days (you can probably thank my coffee habit for that), but after I land on the tarmac, my complexion needs some serious TLC. When I arrived at my hotel, the first thing I did was wash my face with the Olay Regenerist Luminous Brightening Cream Cleanser to get off all my lingering makeup and plane essence. Already my skin tone looked more even and my complexion brighter and more hydrated.
After that, I applied a generous layer of the Olay Regenerist Luminous Overnight Mask to my face and neck, let it dry for a few seconds and then set my alarm for the next morning. The lightweight texture made it easy to crawl into bed almost immediately and provided a light cooling sensation to soothe my parched skin. I’ll be honest, I didn’t think a gel mask could do any good for my dry complexion, but the next morning I woke up and my skin was brighter and back to its former hydrated glory.
I’ll be honest, I didn’t think a gel mask could do any good for my dry complexion, but the next morning I woke up to an almost-unrecognizable glowing face that looked so refreshed I couldn’t believe it. I’m not often blown away by beauty products, but this one has become a new overnight staple and I can safely say I’ll be packing this for every trip to come.
My only qualm: These products have been on the market for a while, so where have they been all my life?
