Innovation is a wonderful thing, especially in the realm of beauty. Whether it’s an update to a classic tool or an entirely reformed item that harnesses new technology, new products are always exciting because they present newer (and usually more comfortable) solutions to age old problems–remember cushion compacts? Some people are happy sticking with what they know, but not us: we’d rather take the future head on as it comes. Here are some of our favourite new beauty tools to test-drive this season.
The future is truly here with Dr. Brandt’s Magnetight Age-Defier ($94), a mask that’s best avoided by those with pacemakers and other medical devices thanks to the unique way it’s used. Rife with iron particles, the mask comes with a spatula and a neodymium magnet, with the logic being that after a good smear with the applicator and a 15 minute time-out, you remove the mask with the help of the magnet (covered with a tissue, mind you) for instantly refreshed skin. Lavender and geranium oil help condition and balance the skin, but obviously, we never thought magnets would enter the skincare game, at least not this way. For what it’s worth, this little number has attracted our attention.
