Seriously low-maintenance, lip stains are a girls’ best friend. A simple swipe should gold you over from 9 to 5 with minimal touch ups throughout the day. Here are four tried and true drugstore lip stains that are sure to become your must-haves, too.
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain: This lip stain is a personal favourite. For only $8 – $10 a piece, it is a must-have. With various finishes (matte, glossy, or a straight-up stain), the Revlon Just Bitten lip stains are long lasting and smudge proof. My favourite is the kissable balm stain in Smitten, as it is both moisturizing and applies smooth. There is a small collection of colours to pick from, but the applicator is awesome and easy to control. The pencil point always creates a flawless finish- with or without a mirror.
L’oreal Infallible Star Power: This is a two-step lip colour that acts like a stain. One side of the product is the stain and the other a balm-like topcoat. The colour is incredibly long lasting and leaves a slightly glossy finish. If you love a bold looking lip that will last hundreds of kisses, grab this one. Since this is a long lasting formula, make sure you exfoliate and moisturize your lips before applying. Just be sure to avoid super oily lip balms like petroleum jelly. Try something easier to absorb like Nivea Lip Care essential or Burt’s Bees Honey Lip Balm.
Pixi Lip Blush: First off, how cute is the name: Lip Blush? That reason alone makes it a must-have. The color is not super pigmented but still acts as a great lipstick replacement. The colour selection is limited (there are only three shades to choose from), but the felt tip marker is easy to use and I love the very natural finish this lip stain. It’s comparable to a sheer version of the cult product from Benefit Cosmetics, Benetint, but not as long lasting.
CoverGirl Outlast Lipstain Color: This lip stain is nearly waterproof and definitely lasts all day. The magic marker applicator makes it easy to apply bold colours and CoverGirl has 14 shades to choose from. The product is buildable, allowing for a natural finish or something more intense.
