19-year-old Polly Smith tried to get in on the bold brow trend by paying for a waxing, threading, and tinting treatment. When she woke up the next morning though, her eyebrows had swollen to the point that she could barely open her eyes. They became discoloured, started scabbing, and even began to fall out. She rushed to the hospital where they pumped her full of antihistamines, antibiotics, and steroids in hopes to combat what must have been a bad allergic reaction. Though Polly is okay now, her brows will probably never be the same.
