Q: How can I get away with blue eye shadows without looking like a makeup-mess from the 60’s?
Charlotte Tilbury: Blue eyeshadow is going to have a major resurgence come Spring 2016, so consider buying one now and trying out different ways to incorporate the look into your beauty routine. Staying ahead of the trend and trying it out now is a great idea. A really modern and chic way to wear blue is to opt for a richer shade instead of the frosted version we know from the 50’s and 60’s. Try a deep navy blue as an easy introduction to the colour. Also, consider focusing it solely on the lash line vs. all across the lid if you’re not comfortable with it yet. Apply Rock ‘N’ Kohl eyeliner pencil in Marlene Midnight along the lash line and then blend it out with the Enhance shade from my Rock Chick Luxury Eye Palette to create a navy-silvery eye. Finish with two coats of of a deep black mascara for a sophisticated and modern take on blue eyeshadow.
