This summer, we saw bold nail polish colours. This fall, we are seeing bold nail polish colours. The difference? The summer lines featured super saturated, bright hues while the majority of the fall lines tend to be more on the rich but muted side of things. Same colours, different saturations and levels of brightness. The world is so beautifully coloured during the fall, it seems like a shame not to carry it into your polish and feel a bit better about trading your shorts for scarves.
The best way to understand is, of course, with visuals. We compared the Sally Hansen’s Boho Chic Miracle Gel Summer 2015 line (top) and their upcoming Complete Salon Manicure Fall 2015 line (bottom).
On the top (L-R): Rhapsody Red, Tipsy Gypsy, Boho a-Go-Go, Beatnik, and Mintage. On the bottom (L-R) the less saturated fall versions: Jewels of the Trade, Stellar Style, Talk is Chic, Tropic Thunder, and Bow to the Queen. Same colour groups but it’s quite obvious that the Fall collection is a softer, more subdued set of colours compared to their summer counterparts.
