With spring in full swing, summer will be here before you know it. As harsh as cold weather is for your feet, the hotter seasons can be even worse. It’s fun to frolic in the sun, surf, and sand, but it can be disastrous for your feet. You have protected them from the elements all through winter, so now it’s time to prepare them to face the elements of summer. It’s gonna be hot and you’re gonna be out walking around a lot more, so you need to prepare and care for your feet accordingly. In this final installment of our three part series, we have all your foot problems solved and address all the issues that result in foot fiascos during the summer because let’s be honest – happiness starts in our feet. Take care of them and all the rest will follow!
Solution: Soak and massage your feet
Whether from a long day of hiking or a long night of dancing, the best way to treat your poor feet is with a nice foot soak followed by a relaxing massage. Fill a large bowl with warm water and throw in a couple scoops of epsom salts and a few drops of peppermint oil, which is great for stimulating circulation (not to mention a fresh clean scent). Sit back and relax for about 20 minutes. Follow up by giving yourself a massage with your favourite oil or lotion to further increase circulation. But we all have busy lives and sometimes a soak and massage just doesn’t fit into our schedules. Opt instead for a lotion made just for sore and tired feet. Look for moisturizers that contain mint oils as these provide ultimate soothing action to refresh and revitalize your poor soles.
